The University of The Gambia Debate Association (UTGDA), one of the leading students associations in the university, recently paid a visit to Fantanka for a meeting on key national issues.
Fantanka is a civil society organisation known for its advocacy on transitional justice, gender and community.
Established in December 2018, Fantanka seeks to close the gap in sexual and reproductive health and bolster human rights awareness in The Gambia.
This service positions the organisation as the right body to work hand in glove with the progressive university association to champion community-centre initiatives.
The organisation’s service to humanity prompted the UTGDA to pay a visit of courtesy to its executive. The discussion “aligns with UTGDA’s ongoing mission to foster strategic partnerships that promote civic education and youth empowerment through debate”.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both organizations to share their respective visions and explore potential areas of collaboration.
Fantanka has expressed interest in partnering with UTGDA in the implementation of a nationwide activity, which will form part of their series of activities under the African Union Transitional Justice Legacy Fund. Both parties have conveyed enthusiasm over future collaborations.
