NPP distributes 203 vehicles and motorcycles to constituency representatives

The ruling National People’s Party (NPP) has intensified preparations for the December 2026 presidential election with the distribution of 203 vehicles and motorcycles to its regional and constituency representatives across The Gambia.

At a ceremony presided over by President Adama Barrow, Party leader and the Secretary General of NPP, the party handed over 16 pickup vehicles and 187 motorcycles to strengthen its grassroots mobilisation network. The vehicles will be allocated across the country’s eight administrative regions, providing logistical support to party officials coordinating political activities and engaging with supporters at the community level.

Party officials described the initiative as a major investment in the NPP’s grassroots structures, noting that mobility remains a challenge in rural areas. The move is expected to enhance outreach and improve coordination as political parties intensify activities ahead of the campaign season.

Addressing supporters, President Barrow underscored the importance of unity and commitment as the party advances its election preparations. He urged members to consolidate what he termed the gains achieved under the NPP government while expanding outreach nationwide.

The distribution forms part of the party’s broader “Road to 2026” campaign strategy, aimed at strengthening local structures and increasing voter engagement. Political observers say grassroots mobilisation will likely play a decisive role in the upcoming election, with parties expected to step up efforts to connect with communities.

The NPP maintains that its focus remains on expanding its presence nationwide while promoting its development agenda as it seeks another electoral mandate in 2026.
