Mahmoud Lamin Jawla, the acting executive director of the National Sports Council, has stated that at the heart of every successful sporting discipline lie the dedication and expertise of coaches.
The acting NSC boss Jawla made this remark recently, adding: “So for that reason, your role extends beyond tactical guidance. Your role shapes athletes into disciplined competitors and also instills in them the values of team work, perseverance and excellence.”
He commended the Gambia National Olympics Commission (GNOC) for the effort in developing sport in The Gambia.
“Your vision and investment in training programmes demonstrate the deep belief in the power of sport to bring individuals and communities alike together,” he highlighted.
He further emphasised the fast-paced world of sport and its constantly evolving nature, especially with its increasing interconnectedness with technology, which require coaches to be well-informed and be constantly learning and evolving.
