Police in Kalagi have responded to a fatal road traffic accident involving a GTSU bus, registration number KM 4845 K, travelling from Bwiam towards Soma on Monday 11 August 2025.
Preliminary investigations indicate that upon reaching Kalagi, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road. Several passengers were injured and rushed to the Kalagi Health Centre for treatment.
Two people have been confirmed dead: Yahya Mballow, 29, of Wellingara Kejew and one unidentified female.
Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident and urge all drivers to exercise caution, adhere to speed limits, and ensure vehicles are roadworthy at all times.
