Freedom Development Foundation, BSAC launch key projects in URR

The Freedom Development Foundation, in partnership with the Basse Area Council (BSAC), has launched major development projects in The Gambia’s Upper River Region to improve living conditions for residents.

The fully funded initiatives include the installation of 200 streetlights, a new bread mill machine, and a borehole drilling machine to enhance food production, provide clean drinking water, and improve public safety.

Speaking at the launch, BSAC Chairman Honourable Mahamadou Ceesay praised the foundation, co-founded by Nuha Jabbie, a native of the region, for its commitment to community development. He highlighted how these projects align with the Council’s mission to support underprivileged communities and enhance the region’s infrastructure.

Ceesay assured that BSAC would ensure the sustainability of these initiatives and urged other investors to follow the foundation’s example. He emphasised that the Freedom Development Foundation has been a key partner since the launch of the Smart URR Project in April 2024, playing a crucial role in regional progress.

“With our partnership, we are dedicated to ensuring these projects flourish and serve as a strong foundation for many more in the future. We will stand against anyone who seeks to hinder their success,” Ceesay stated.

This partnership sets a precedent for future investments in the region, with a focus on sustainable development and community well-being. The collaboration between BSAC and the Freedom Development Foundation signals a promising future for the Upper River Region.
