In the early hours of March 18, 2025, Dimbaya Immigration personnel successfully recovered two children reported missing yesterday in a widely circulated social media post.
The allegedly abducted children were located and secured following a thorough screening, investigation, and intelligence-gathering operation by immigration officials.
According to a GID statement, Mohamadou Jallow, who claimed to be the father of the children, along with Amadou Kanteh and Isatou Jallow, both said to be Senegalese nationals assisting him in the alleged abduction, were apprehended while attempting to flee through Dimbaya.
The report further said the swift response by Dimbaya Immigration officers highlights GID’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of vulnerable individuals, particularly minors, within its jurisdiction.
The report added that following the operation, the children were handed over to the Madina Salanding Police Post for further investigation.
However, the report mentioned that GID reaffirms its dedication to inter-agency cooperation to enhance public safety and strengthen border control.
In a similar development, The Gambia Police Force (GPF) also reported that they have successfully rescued two abducted children, Alasana Jallow and Ousainatou Jallow, and arrested three suspects in Dimbaya Village as they attempted to flee to Senegal.
Statement added that this breakthrough was made possible through timely information from the community, leading to a swift response by the Police. “The children are safe, and investigations are ongoing.”
However, the Police commend the public for their cooperation and support, highlighting the crucial role of community-police collaboration in combating crime. “Together, we ensure a safer society for al,” the police stated.
