Executive members of the University of The Gambia Students’ Union (UTGSU) recently visited the Ministry of Information, Media and Communications Infrastructure and the Kanifing Municipal Council to garner support for their high-level annual event known as the Students’ Week.
Fruitful engagements resulted from the meetings, as the students were warmly hosted by the Minister of Information, Dr Ismaila Ceesay, and the mayor of the Kanifing Municipality, Talib Ahmed Bensouda.
Both, on behalf of their respective institutions, conveyed openness to meaningful collaboration. Specifically, the Information Ministry offered to support the Data Protection forum at the Students’ Week.
The Students’ Week, staged annually by the University of The Gambia Students’ Union, is an event that rallies students together for days to network, engage and give back meaningfully as well to communicate. It is characterised by a series of important activities and programmes, from sporting activities and seminars to awareness raising and advocacy sessions.
