Petrol ‘now available’ at fuel stations, after sharp shortage

The Ministry of Petroleum, Energy and Mines has stated in a press release dispatched to the media today that gasoline, which is petrol, is now available for sale at various fuel stations around town.

This development follows a sharp shortage of petrol in the country recently.

The press release from the Petroleum Ministry reads:

The Ministry of Petroleum, Energy and Mines is pleased to inform the general public that the delayed shipment of Gasoline (Petrol) has arrived at the dock and has successfully docked at the Gam Petroleum on Tuesday 11 February 2025.

The fuel has been discharged and being distributed to petrol stations. As a result, petrol is now widely and readily available for purchase, and the temporary shortage of petrol has been resolved.

Also, one week window was opened for overland importation and the trucks have started arriving in the country. Therefore, we are pleased to confirm that the supply chain has been restored, and there is no need for the public to panic or engage in panic buying. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the temporary shortage.

The Ministry remains committed to ensuring a stable and reliable supply of petroleum products in the country to meet the needs of all citizens.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and take proactive measures to prevent similar disruptions in the future.
