President Barrow Vows to Launch a Well-Resourced Campaign for his 2026 Re-election bid

The National People’s Party (NPP) mega rally in Sukuta has showcased the party’s enthusiasm for President Adama Barrow’s re-election bid in 2026.

With thousands of supporters in attendance, the event was used underscore the significance of unity and development, hightlighting what the party described as achievements in infrastructure and youth empowerment.

President Adama Barrow, the secretary general and party leader for NPP vowed to launch a well-resourced campaign for his 2026 re-election bid, with plans to utilise various materials and mobilise support. 

Barrow assured NPP supporters that the 2026 campaign will be fully resourced, with adequate vehicles, T-shirts, ashobis, and all necessary campaign materials to secure victory.

He said there will be no shortages of any items required for an effective campaign.

The incumbent President said ministers, alkalos, and chiefs will participate in campaigning for his bid, stating that several individuals have promised to contribute financially to the campaign.

He said even the Minister of Justice will take part in campaigning for the National People’s Party (NPP) in the next presidential election.

Henry Gomez, a presidential adviser has praised what he described as President Adama Barrow administration’s achievements, stressing the importance of accountability within government institutions. 


He opined that any shortcomings or destruction within government institutions should be blamed on ministers and directors, rather than the president.

Gomez noted that President Barrow has laid a strong foundation for national progress, urging senior officials to uphold their responsibilities.

Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting and secretary general and party leader of Citizens Alliance (CA) questioned the credibility of opposition parties in The Gambia, describing them as those who lack policies and programs, and are primarily driven by a desire for power and privileges.
