In a series of significant diplomatic engagements at the State House on Friday, September 12, 2025, His Excellency President Adama Barrow warmly welcomed newly accredited Ambassadors from Korea, Mali, Switzerland, Algeria, and Liberia.
The Ambassadors, H.E. Hyuk-woon Kwon, H.E. Baboucar Biro Diallo, H.E. Pietro Mona, H.E. Ridha Nebais, and H.E. Ali Sylla all presented their letters of credence to the Head of State in a dignified ceremony, marking a significant step in The Gambia’s continuous effort in strengthening international partnership.
Accepting the credentials, President Barrow highlighted the significance of the ceremony as reaffirmation of the bonds of friendship between The Gambia and the Ambassadors’ respective nations.
“It also reflects our collective commitment to advancing shared values—peace, mutual respect and prosperity for our people”, he noted
The President accentuated his government’s commitment to enhancing both bilateral and multilateral relations, identifying key areas of mutual interest and cooperation, including economic collaboration, capacity building, trade and investment, education, agriculture, and cultural exchanges.
Recognising the pressing challenges faced by the global community—including environmental degradation, health emergencies, conflict, and economic instability—President Barrow deemed the accreditation timely and vital. “In the face of these challenges, solidarity, diplomacy and cooperation remain the most effective tools at our disposal”, he stated.
He assured the diplomats of his government’s unwavering support, cooperation, extending his best wishes for a fruitful tenure, along with warm greetings to their respective Heads of State.
