UTG student leaders take step to partner Modempay, Yonna Group

Anchored on broader efforts to cement partnerships and enhance student welfare, members of the executive of the University of The Gambia Students Union recently paid courtesy visits to Modempay and Yonna Group, a mobile transfer service and mobile financial service respectively.

During a meeting with Modempay, the parties discussed potential integration of the firm’s digital payment system into UTGSU operations particularly for ticket sales and other student transactions.

The student delegation highlighted the value of digital payments in promoting transparency, accountability and accessibility for students.

Meanwhile, at the Yonna building, the delegation of young would-be administrators and national-builders and the Yonna managers delved into probable avenues for collaboration on several key initiatives, such as the upcoming Knockout Tournament, Students Week 2025, the 40 per cent semesterly scholarship program and internship opportunities for UTG students.

The student delegation extended its sincere appreciation to the top management of Yonna for the engaging discussions. In the same vein, they extended gratitude to the Business Development Lead and Chief Technology Officer of Modempay for their warm reception and assurances for collaboration.
