UTGSU strives for robust partnerships, visits Access Bank and Comium

The University of The Gambia Students Union Tuesday paid visit of courtesy to the managements of Access Bank and Comium, a leading bank and a prominent GSM operator, in an endeavour to strike partnerships and befitting collaborations.

This is part of a broader initiative by the recently elected executive to rejuvenate and further lubricate already existing partnerships and build new ones in an endeavour to bag new opportunities for the UTG students that it serves.

At Access Bank, discussions were centred around strengthening collaborations in key areas beneficial to students, including the establishment of printing stations and a student-friendly cafeteria.

Additionally, the student delegation engaged in discussions over scholarship opportunities and employment pathways for UTG graduates.

The bank relayed assuring words that conveyed willingness to effectively support the student body and support academic and professional development initiatives as a whole.

The UTGSU delegation then proceeded to Comium. The discussion with the GSM firm was geared towards strengthening the already existing relationship between the two institutions.

The students especially emphasised the forthcoming Students’ Week, with both parties discussing ways Comium could render support in making the event a memorable and impactful experience for students.

Furthermore, the possibilities of establishing a Student Bantaba at Faraba Campus, establishing printing services, improving internet connectivity, creating a campus media studio and collaborating on financial literacy training were also highlighted.

Significantly, the courtesy visits were part of a wider effort by the UTGSU to strengthen partnerships with key institutions that align with its vision of empowering students through meaningful collaboration and opportunity.

The UTGSU has expressed gratitude to both Access Bank and Comium for the warm reception and looks forward to having long lasting mutual partnerships.
