The Gambia’s Vice President Muhammed B. S. Jallow recently received in audience a delegation of students from the School of Education at the University of The Gambia.
The delegation was comprised of the executive members of the association of students at that school/faculty (EDUSA), who are tasked with the responsibility of furthering the welfare and interest of such students.
The high-level meeting with the vice president was geared towards discussing strategic initiatives to enhance educational opportunities for students.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed appreciation for the vice president’s ongoing support and his drive to address key educational challenges, particularly regarding scholarship accessibility for students in the education field in The Gambia.
The possibility of establishing new scholarship programs to aid deserving students was also stressed with adequate emphasis during the discussion.
For his part and on behalf of the government generally, Vice President B.S. Jallow demonstrated strong interest in expanding some of the progressive initiatives staged by government.
He equally acknowledged the vital role collaboration plays in furthering student welfare and promoting academic success within the university. The session ended fruitfully as both parties expressed optimism.
