VP Jallow opens 47th Jalsa Salana of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at

His Excellency Mohammed B.S. Jallow, Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia, officially presided over the opening ceremony of the 47th Jalsa Salana – an annual spiritual and national convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at.

The  event took place at Nusrat Senior Secondary School in Bundung at the weekend, and brought together a large gathering of Ahmadi Muslims from all regions of The Gambia and beyond. Also in attendance were government ministers, senior officials, members of the National Assembly, and other distinguished guests.

Jalsa Salana serves as a platform for reflection, renewal of faith, and promotion of peace, unity, and mutual understanding among members of the Jama’at and the society.

In his keynote speech, Vice President Jallow commended the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at for their outstanding contributions to national development especially in the sectors of education, healthcare, and information technology.

He acknowledged the Jama’at’s selfless efforts in supporting the underprivileged across the country.

He further expressed appreciation for their continued partnership with the government in advancing The Gambia’s development agenda.

The Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in The Gambia, Baba F. Trawally, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Vice President and the government for their longstanding support and collaboration, which has allowed the Jama’at to operate smoothly and contribute meaningfully to national progress.

The 47th Jalsa Salana continued through the weekend, offering prayers, and various spiritual activities aimed at strengthening faith, love for humanity, and unity.
