GPF Sports Department presents referee team to IGP as AFCON 2025 draws closer

The Gambia Police Force Sports Department presented its team of referees to the Inspector-General of Police, Seedy Muktarr Touray,

CIP Samba G. Kah, Secretary-General of GPF Sports, on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, introduced the talented team, highlighting their achievements at national and international levels.

The team includes FIFA referee Lamin N. Jammeh, along with FIFA badge holders Fatou Ngum and Abdoulie L. Jammeh, who have officiated international matches. Aminata Darboe and Awa Sanneh, GFF referees, were also recognised for their contributions locally.

CIP Kah announced that Lamin N. Jammeh will officiate at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco. ASP Lamin Jammeh, OC of GPF Sports, expressed gratitude to the GPF for supporting the team’s growth and fostering their talents in sport.

Inspector-General Touray commended the referees for representing the GPF and The Gambia on prestigious platforms, reaffirming his support for their continued success. The event concluded with the presentation of a set of FIFA jersey to the IGP as a token of appreciation. The GPF congratulates the team and wishes them success in their refereeing careers.
