Coach Ebou Jarra conveys North Star Academy endeavours

Experienced Gambian football coach and CEO of North Star Academy has unveiled plans that his North Star Academy aims to accomplish in the coming months and years to make an indelible impact in Gambian football and other sports disciplines.

Ebou Jarra, who has coached teams such as Talinding United, Gamtel, Real de Banjul, Armed Forces and others, explained that North Star Academy emerged in The Gambia in 2024, eventually booking a place in the third division of the North Bank Region’s Football Association for the male and female segments. North Star also runs an under-17 team.

He elaborates: “We are also currently camped. So we have minimum 50 kids that we have camped in one place in Karang and Amdalai. So, this is the academy and we want to emulate the likes of Jambarr, Generation Foot and others. This is what we want to do.

“So, this pitch, this ground here (in Karang), we want to turn it into a mini-stadium where we will be playing our league matches and everything. So at least we are preparing ourselves for football proper in the region.”

While the pitch is already at an advanced stage, there are buildings near one end of it. Coach Ebou said there is intention to house about hundred kids and academy members, and to also establish a school.
