LRR Benefit From Tractors to Bolster Agriculture 

In government’s efforts to ensure equitable development across the country, particularly in agriculture, Lower River Region (LRR) has been among beneficiary communities that were once deprived but now have been receiving constant support by the Barrow’s administration.

By continuing this ongoing effort, The Deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of the President Mr. Alieu Loum, under the Program for Accelerated Community Development (PACD) presented over two (2) tractors to Madina Angalleh in Kiang Central and Jalangbereh in Jarra Central in the Lower River Region (LRR).

The support is part of the government’s ongoing efforts of His Excellency to mechanize agriculture in the country.

In his remarks during the presentation of the tractors, Mr. Loum urged beneficiary communities to work in unison for sustainability by ensuring the transparent utilisation of the proceeds of the tractors.

Mr. Loum called on the gathering to safeguard the peace and stability that the country is blessed with, pointing out that without peace and stability, there can be no meaningful development and prosperity.

He commended the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for the implementation.

In his part, the Governor of LLR Seedy Lamin Bah, said that the government has fulfilled every commitment made to the farmers, assuring that more is on the pipeline.

The National Assembly Member for Kiang Central, Chiefs of beneficiary districts, and residents acknowledged the support of the Government, lauding the development efforts specifically projects that have positively impacted the livelihood of communities such as electricity expansion, access roads, water supply and health facilities.
