The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) has donated key sports gears to the University of The Gambia Students’ Union (UTGSU).
This initiative came as part of efforts to support the UTGSU Sports Festival, the major sports event, which draws near.
The recently donated materials included eight sets of football jerseys and six balls.
According to the UTGSU, the items are projected to facilitate the smooth organisation of sporting activities during the festival and enhance student participation in sporting events.
It stated further: “The Union expressed deepest appreciation to the Ministry for the support, which will contribute significantly to the success of the Sports Festival and promote sports development and unity among students at the country’s highest learning institution.
“The Sports Festival forms part of UTGSU’s broader efforts to encourage student engagement, teamwork and healthy competition across the university community.”
