Mayor Rohey Malick Lowe has called on women in Kotu, Latrikunda, and Manjai to rally behind United Democratic Party (UDP) leader Ousainou Darboe in the upcoming December presidential election.
Speaking at the Manjai Kotu quarry meeting on Saturday, organized under the Gambia First Coalition and led by the UDP, Mayor Lowe emphasized the pivotal role of women in shaping the nation’s political future. She urged them to turn out in large numbers and cast their votes in favor of Darboe, stressing that their participation is vital for the party’s success.
The gathering drew supporters from across the region, reflecting the UDP’s grassroots mobilization strategy ahead of the polls. Mayor Lowe’s appeal underscores the growing influence of women in Gambian politics, where community leaders continue to encourage active civic engagement.
While campaign momentum builds, the final outcome of the December election will be determined only after official certification by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).
