National Builders Party Unveils Bold Blueprint for Gambia’s Future

The National Builders Party (NBP), led by party leader and Secretary General Ansu Sanneh, officially launched its political blueprint on Saturday at Buffer Zone in Tallinding, unveiling an ambitious plan to transform the country’s security, agriculture, infrastructure, housing, and youth empowerment.

Mr. Sanneh emphasised that “every family deserves to sleep in peace and every business deserves to operate safely,” pledging to modernize the police force and security services with better training, equipment, working conditions, and accountability.

Sanneh highlighted the untapped potential of Gambian farmland, promising farmers access to machinery, financing, storage facilities, and processing plants. He stressed that farming must be seen as “a business with a future,” with local industries supported to turn harvests into finished products, ensuring more value and wages remain in the country.

The NBP’s tourism plan includes improved access roads, cleaner surroundings, protected heritage sites, and stronger local services to boost restaurants, crafts, and small businesses. To open up the interior, the party proposes building a new regional airport in Upper River Region (URR) and multiple ferry crossings along the River Gambia, supported by proper terminals and connecting roads.

Sanneh pledged affordable housing across the nation, designed with roads, water, electricity, schools, clinics, and workplaces. He argued that modern communities would discourage young Gambians from taking “the back way” to Europe. The blueprint also envisions a carefully planned new city near the River Gambia, with public transport, drainage systems, utilities, parks, and libraries integrated from the start.

Women’s businesses would be supported with financing and modern markets, including ultramodern seafood markets in Brufut, Tanji, and Sanyang. Youth empowerment initiatives include sports centres, theatres, and leadership opportunities. “Your courage belongs to the building of this country. Your talents belong to its future,” Sanneh told young Gambians.

The NBP promises to strengthen accountability, close financing loopholes, and establish an independent anti-corruption commission. Sanneh stressed that proper budgets, timelines, and transparent resource management would be central to governance.

“We are not gathered here to insult any political party. We are gathered here to accept responsibility for our country’s future,” Sanneh declared. He urged Gambians to “choose leadership with a clear purpose” and place their trust in the NBP’s comprehensive blueprint.

As the December 5th election approaches, Sanneh concluded with a rallying call: “Vote wisely. Vote the NBP because it is the only political party with the master’s plan to build this country.”
