A young and vibrant political figure, Sulayman Waan, leader of the Change Front, has promised to introduce two robust economic transformation models if elected as The Gambia’s president in the 2026 presidential elections.
Mr Waan, a journalist-cum-politician, was speaking at a press conference on Thursday, 23 October 2025, at YMCA along MDI road in Kanifing.
“I will modernize agriculture to increase productivity and efficiency,” he promised.
He also said he plans to reform education: “I will improve the education system to equip Gambians with relevant skills,” he stated.
On strengthening national security, Mr Waan said he would enhance security measures to protect the country and her citizens.
Waan also vows to reduce wasteful spending to allocate resources more effectively.
The Change Front leader emphasised the importance of unity, transparency, accountability, and good governance in achieving these goals. He highlighted the need to empower women and youth by ensuring women are represented and youth are utilised in the development process.
Under his leadership, he explained, the national resources will be managed effectively to benefit the nation.
His vision is to make The Gambia a model of progress and justice in Africa, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and building a prosperous nation for all Gambians.
