In collaboration with the Cuban Medical Brigade in The Gambia and the Embassy of Cuba, Mr. Modou Lamin B. Bah, the National Assembly member for Banjul North, recently organised a community health outreach for his constituency.
The outreach successfully rolled out preventive screening for various conditions to over 187 residents of Banjul North constituency and beyond, and provided free medicines, promoting preventive healthcare and community well-being.
The Cuban specialist provided the free services on internal Medicine, neurology, endocrinology, cardiology, pediatrics, urology and general surgery
This initiative was held at Main Tobacco Road Mosque in the Campama Ward from 9:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m., marking it as a commemoration of the Cuban Day of Independence (26th of July)
Mar Bah, the Banjul North legislator, has conveyed thanks to the Cuban Medical Brigade and The Embassy of Cuba for their continued solidarity and commitment to the health of Gambians.
He equally thanked the Imam of Tobacco Road, the Campama Ward Development Committee, the Banjul City Council and the volunteers and health workers for their tireless effort, as well as the people of Banjul North for coming out in large numbers.
The Banjul North MP has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Nursing Students Association at the University of The Gambia in a drive to boost healthcare within his constituency.
Taking effect from 21st July, it will run for 2 years with the association availing free health service days for residents, healthcare outreach programs in schools, menstrual hygiene and reusable pads training. The MP will facilitate and support logistics and finance of these initiatives.
