Real de Banjul has confirmed that Gambian U20 international Amara Camara has completed a permanent transfer to Swedish Allsvenskan side Kalmar FF.
Camara, an attacking midfielder, began his football journey with Real de Banjul at a young age and rose through the ranks to enjoy three senior seasons. He also had a successful loan spell with Elite United before returning to Real de Banjul’s first team. During his two senior campaigns, he played a pivotal role in helping the club secure the league title in his debut season and featured in the CAF Champions League Preliminary Round.
The talented midfielder had previously trained with Kalmar FF on several occasions before finalizing his move. Speaking after signing, Camara expressed his joy:
“Alhamdulillah, to God be the glory. I am finally here because this is the moment I have been waiting for. This is a new chapter for me, but not entirely a new place, as I have been coming here and training with these amazing people at this beautiful club.”
“A special thank you to Real de Banjul, who picked me up from a much younger age, believed in me, and helped me tremendously in achieving this dream step in my football career. I also want to express my appreciation to all the coaches, teammates, and fans who have always supported me.”
Real de Banjul President, Mr. William Abraham, praised Camara’s development and wished him success:
