The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Mr. Sering Modou Njie, has paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Chief Justice of The Gambia, His Lordship Hon. Edi M.O. Faal, at his Chambers in Banjul.
During the meeting, Minister Njie warmly congratulated Chief Justice Faal on his appointment and pledged his Ministry’s full support to the Judiciary’s development agenda, particularly in the area of court infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of engaging international partners to help strengthen judicial facilities across the country.
Chief Justice Faal, in turn, underscored the critical role of modern infrastructure in ensuring timely and effective administration of justice. He noted that adequate facilities and technology are essential for building business confidence, attracting investment, and reinforcing the rule of law. “A modern judicial infrastructure is an investment in national development and institutional credibility,” he remarked.
Minister Njie highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between the Ministry and the Judiciary, assuring that his office will continue to coordinate with other government institutions to achieve shared objectives.
The Chief Justice expressed gratitude for the Minister’s visit, describing it as a significant step toward inter-institutional cooperation. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing judicial reforms that will enhance efficiency and strengthen public trust in the justice system.
