New Generation FA have emerged champions of the prestigious Dr Ismaila Ceesay U-15 Academy Tournament after defeating BK 31 FA 1-0 in a thrilling final at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.
The decisive moment came in the 35th minute when Peter Mendy converted a superb out swinging cross from Ismaila Sanyang, giving New Generation FA the lead. Despite late pressure from BK 31 FA, the Brikama-based side held firm to secure victory and lift the coveted trophy.
As champions, New Generation FA walked away with a cash prize of D15,000, a set of jerseys, and the tournament trophy. Runners-up BK 31 FA received D10,000 and a set of jerseys in recognition of their spirited performance.
The final drew an impressive audience, including Hon. Dr Ismaila Ceesay, Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services; Governor Ousman Bojang of the West Coast Region; Presidential Adviser Momodou Sabally; and the Chiefs of Brikama North and South, among other dignitaries.
The tournament, sponsored by Dr Ceesay, provided a vital platform for young footballers to showcase their talent while promoting youth development and grassroots football in the region.
